We moved into our home in the Spring of 2010. Since then we've given the kitchen a face-lift, expanded the deck, painted the trim and decorating projects abound. The biggest project of all was expanding from a family of 4 to 5…that is what's really made this house our home. We are constantly tackling new projects and would love for you to
follow along on our journey. Thanks for spending some time with us!
New Tour Coming Soon!
Wow! Lots of changes! all look so nice:) Love the rug in your family room, it looks so pretty. I should get one for our office now.... .
ReplyDeleteDina
Thanks for the kind words Dina. I love the rug. Bought it initially for the baby's room...was letting it air out in the family room. I feel in love with the look so it stayed.
DeleteWhat great updates you have been doing on your home. The kitchen is very impressive. We are just now putting the finishing touches on our kitchen update. 8 years of red walls with white cabinets needed a change. We tiled the back splash Friday and I painted the walls gray. What a change already. I have to sew the new valances then it's ready to see on my blog. You can check out the difference of the gray paint vs the red now on my Winter Buffet post on my blog.
ReplyDeleteThanks Terry. I'm headed over now to check out your kitchen. Hope to see you back at monograms 'n mud soon!

I love your home redo it is wonderful. Could you please tell me what color you used on the island cabinets? I have a kitchen the same color as yours with all white cabinets and have been thinking of doing my island in a different color you have inspired me. Thanks
ReplyDeleteHi Carol-
DeleteThe island is painted BM Eagle Rock. It is a nice taupe-grey. If you do decide to paint your island, I'd love to see the results.

Amelia
You have a gorgeous home! I love that rug in your entryway!
ReplyDeleteYou have a lovely home!
ReplyDeleteI love your kitchen. What kind of paint/finish did you use on your cabinets? I read your comment on another site that they are oak. How did you get such a smooth finish -so that you dont see the grain through the paint?
ReplyDeleteHi Mary-
DeleteOur painter used Killz primer (2 coats-1st rolled on & 2nd sprayed) & then a paint called Cabinet Coat (2 coats sprayed on). Hubby & I also spent an entire weekend preparing the cabinet doors (washing, deglazing, sanding, & spackling old hardware holes). I think all those pieces together made the appearance of the grain very minimal.
