Sunday afternoon we gathered the crew and attended WDT's inaugural performance of The Nutcracker. I worked backstage the night before and was so excited to be sitting in the audience with the boys, Hubby, both sets of Grands, Bestie B plus girls, Bestie H plus family, and Bestie J and her beau.
Belle performed the role of toy soldier in Act I and marched on stage front & center.
In Act II, Belle danced the role of a squirrel. In this version of The Nutcracker, squirrels help Clara and the Prince find the magical golden nut that was stolen by the Mouse King. Thank you Bestie H for the photos. I vowed not to bust out the camera and just enjoy the experience.
The whole cast and crew put on a lovely performance with the countless hours of practice paying off. I can not express how touched we were that such a large group of family, friends and neighbors turned out to watch Belle perform....there were around 25 of us total. My heart is so full of thanks and love for each and everyone of them.
The evening culminated with a dinner party back at our house. We grabbed a few catering trays from a local restaurant, turned on the football game, let the kids run crazy in the basement and had a nice relaxing evening celebrating family and friendship. Until next year.....Belle's already counting down the days.
I was happy to take pics! She did a beautiful job... :)
