Yesterday evening we hosted our annual Cookie Decorating Party. Around 40 of our family and friends stopped over to help us celebrate and decorate a few Christmas cookies. For this year's party I repeated the North Pole theme with a few additions like elf hats for all the littles and a hot cocoa station.
Peanut's mouth literally hung open when he saw the mounds of mini marshmallows on the table. The elf hats were a festive touch and helped round out the North Pole theme.
New this year was our hot chocolate station and the kiddies couldn't get enough of creating their own concoctions.
Toppings including peppermints, crushed mints, peppermint marshmallows, chocolate dipped marshmallows, whip cream, & sprinkles.
Quite a few marshmallows were consumed by this handsome elf!
We certainly didn't forget about the big elves either. Our signature cocktail Santa's Lil' Helper was a HUGE hit! Cinnamon, cloves & cranberry infused bourbon mixed with triple sec and finished with 7-UP put everyone in a festive mood.
Eventually we could no longer hold back the elves and they dove into the cookies, decorating & consuming in record speed. Each of the littles managed to head home with a plate full of cookies ready for Santa.
We spent the remainder of the evening dining on a delicious spread of antipasti, pitas, pasticho (greek lasagna with béchamel sauce), and way too many sweets! The diet starts in the new year :)
I was busy visiting and hostessing during much of the evening that I didn't snap many photos, but here are the few I have:
Merry Christmas!!!!
What fun!! That looks like a great party for young and old. I can't wait to hopefully someday have my stuff together enough to have an annual Christmas party :)
