Nursery Closet Makeover

Bear is quickly crawling his way into toddlerhood. His current nursery layout did not include a bookshelf and books are one of this little's favorite things. So Hubby and I brought the Ikea bookshelf that use to live in the mudroom to Bear's nursery (remember I was pretty sure the shelf was going to be served eviction papers).

Given his boyish nature and talent to scale just about anything, having a tradition l bookshelf was out of the picture.  Instead on the floor of Bear's closet we placed the shelf on its side. With a few tweaks of his closet system, the bookshelf was in and ready for loading. Bear now has 8 linear feet of book storage right at his finger tips.

And while I was in there, I went ahead and cleaned out the rest of the closet. Bestie B has a little bundle of blue due in June so tubs full of Bear's outgrown clothes were loaded up for him. Some of Bear's decorative plush is now displayed on a shelf in the closet while white whicker baskets hold next season's clothes and accessories.

Bear's closet is tidied up and organized, just in time for the onslaught of birthday presents. Don't you love small re-organizing projects where you can quickly see the fruit of your labor? Anyone else have a piece of transient furniture in your house? A perpetual floater? I'm thinking this bookshelf has finally found a home…might even apply for residency.

  2. Love the books being near the ground! What a good idea. Does he love the Tails book? Drew is obsessed with Heads and Tails! Anyway, just had to say hi as your family is adorable and I can't wait to read more!

    1. Yes he LOVES them. Tails was Peanuts favorite book so nearly every page is torn and missing the moving parts....poor 3rd child. Need to get a new copy for Bear. Thanks for stopping over.
